Never After – Wretched - FV

Some hearts are too damaged to love, and some souls have embraced the darkness for so long that redemption seems impossible. In Never After – Wretched by Emily McIntire, enter a dangerous world where revenge, betrayal and forbidden attraction collide. Evelina Westerly is no innocent heroine. Brilliant, ruthless and highly skilled in botany, she plays a vital role in her family's powerful drug empire. Haunted by the murder of her sister, Evelina has dedicated her life to vengeance, leaving little room for tenderness or emotional attachments. Her days revolve around her plants, carefully calculated plans and eliminating anyone who dares stand in her way. Love is the last thing she expects to find.

Everything changes when a man from a passionate one-night encounter unexpectedly reappears, working for the Westerly family under an entirely different name. Nicholas is hiding far more than his identity. As an undercover agent determined to destroy the people responsible for his family's downfall, he has a mission that leaves no room for distraction. Yet Evelina, the very woman who represents everything he despises, continues to haunt his thoughts. Their undeniable attraction becomes increasingly dangerous as their secrets threaten to unravel. Despite standing on opposite sides of a deadly conflict, the two begin to recognize unsettling similarities in each other's darkest impulses, blurring the boundaries between hatred, desire and emotional vulnerability.

As their connection intensifies, Nicholas faces an impossible choice: remain loyal to his mission or surrender to feelings for a woman whose actions contradict everything he believes in. Evelina, meanwhile, must navigate the dangerous consequences of a relationship built on deception while pursuing the revenge that has consumed her existence. Wretched delivers a provocative dark romance filled with morally complex characters, dangerous secrets, explicit passion and disturbing violence. Part of the Never After series, this standalone novel explores the darker side of attraction and asks whether two people shaped by vengeance and cruelty can find love without destroying each other. An intense reading experience intended for mature audiences who appreciate unconventional romances where villains take centre stage.
